Roofing Membranes

Sika pioneered the use of PVC for roofing applications in 1962, developing the world’s first thermoplastic membrane reinforced with fabric. This development revolutionized the single-ply roofing industry, and since that time the company has manufactured 15 billion square feet of membrane from company production facilities located in six different countries.

A roofing membrane’s ingredients serve as the foundation for its long-term performance and durability. Sika uses only premium ingredients to produce consistently high-quality roofing and waterproofing products that stand alone in providing customer satisfaction and protection.

Sika has more experience with vinyl roof membrane formulation, production and installation than any other company in the world. Sika's leadership in single-ply membrane roofing is unparalleled.

Sarnafil Roofing Membrane

The Sarnafil G Membrane is a thermoplastic PVC roof membrane used in adhered systems. Formulated for long-term, direct exposure to the elements, this membrane is fiberglass reinforced, offering exceptional dimensional stability and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. By fully encapsulating the fiberglass reinforcement, there is no risk of delamination or water wicking. As well, a unique lacquer coating is applied to the top of the membrane which gives your roof a “self cleaning” feature that resists staining from airborne dirt and pollutants.

G series membranes offer the following benefits:

  • Vapor permeable
  • Dimensionally stable
  • Highly flexible
  • High mechanical strength
  • Weather and UV resistant
  • Available in 7 standard colors as well as custom colors
  • White, Tan and Light Gray available in 10 ft rolls
  • All other colors available in 6.5 ft rolls

The Sarnafil S Membrane is a thermoplastic PVC roof membrane used in mechanically attached systems. This roof membrane is polyester reinforced, which provides the high breaking and tearing strength needed to prevent excessive elongation and sheet deformation under the stresses produced by the lifting of the membrane in this type of system.

With four decades of proven performance history, our durable thermoplastic roofing membranes are the products of choice by architects, specifiers and building owners who want the peace of mind that comes with buying from the performance leader.

S series membranes offer the following benefits:

  • Vapor permeable
  • High breaking and tearing strength
  • Highly flexible
  • High mechanical strength
  • Weather and UV resistant
  • White, Tan and Light Gray available in 10 ft rolls
  • All other colors available in 6.5 ft rolls

Sikaplan Roofing Membranes

Sikaplan is a cost competitive single ply PVC roofing membrane designed for low-slope and steep-slope roofing applications. The membrane has either an internal polyester scrim reinforcement to provide the tear resistance required for mechanically attached roof systems, or has an internal glass mat reinforcement to provide the dimensional stability adhered roof systems require.

Sikplan is ideally suited for applications that call for a quality, cost- efficient roofing membrane from a trusted supplier. The product has a successful track record of more than 20 years of buildings throughout the world.

Sikaplan’s white color reflects the sun’s solar energy and helps to lower building cooling costs. The product meets the cool roofing requirements of USGBC’s LEED® program, Green Globes and California Title 24.

Like all Sika Sarnafil membranes, Sikaplan is thermoplastic; allowing seams and flashing's to be hot-air welded using the Sarnamatic automatic hot-air welder. When welded together, the sheets of membrane become one monolithic layer of material impervious to water and moisture infiltration.
